Measuring translational dynamics by ribosome profiling
Molecular Biology, Biochemistry and workshop by Pasha Baranov, Ayala Shiber, Elisabeth Zielonka and 2 more
About
This EMBO Practical Course teaches experimental and computational approaches to transcriptome-wide translation measurements at codon resolution. Changes in ribosome occupancy, elongation and initiation can reshape protein production before transcription changes, including during cellular stress. Participants learn a ribosome profiling protocol, adapt it to different experimental systems, and examine ribosome collisions as indicators of ribotoxic stress. Computational training covers quality control and analysis using resources including the RiboSeq Data Portal and RiboCrypt. The course is intended for PhD students and early postdocs entering posttranscriptional gene regulation. It is limited to 18 participants, with selection requiring a motivation letter.
