Alzheimer's Research UK Clinical Research Award

Clinical Neurology, Brain Imaging, Clinical Pharmacology and research grant from Alzheimer's Research UK

About

Supports ambitious investigator-led interventional experimental medicine studies, including phase 1b/2a clinical trials, in people living with or likely to develop dementia, and added-value sub-studies across all phases of clinical trials. Studies integrate biological investigation with clinical intervention and may evaluate target engagement, brain penetrance and effects on disease biomarkers; sub-studies can cover trial development, coordinated biobanking and the collection of imaging, digital or other high-value trial data. Amount and duration are flexible and set by each proposal. Standalone late-phase trials are not supported, and anti-amyloid approaches are not a priority. Expressions of interest are reviewed all year, and full-application outcomes are expected in February and July each year. The award is part of the charity's Clinical Accelerator Programme.
