About

This postdoctoral scholarship at Karolinska Institutet’s Department of Medical Biochemistry and Biophysics studies bioactive lipids, particularly prostaglandins, leukotrienes and lipoxins, collectively known as eicosanoids. The researcher joins the Division of Chemistry 2 to conduct independent experimental projects within a collaborative basic-science group. The work connects lipid-mediator biology with the biochemical and biophysical characterisation of native and recombinant proteins. Applicants require a relevant doctorate in biochemistry, protein chemistry, structural biology or protein engineering, together with lipid-mediator expertise and experience in cell and molecular methods such as qRT-PCR, SDS-PAGE and western blotting.

Eligibility

Covers: Tax-free scholarship, set for twelve months at a time and normally paid every six months; maximum two years within the stated degree-age window.

The scholarship is for a researcher living outside Sweden who comes to Sweden for postdoctoral training. Applicants resident in Sweden or with academic education at a Swedish institution are excluded by the stated scholarship rules.
