Postdoctoral Research Position

Join Maarten de Hoop in Rice’s Department of Computational Applied Mathematics and Operations Research to investigate machine learning and inverse problems. The appointment lasts two years, with a possible third year dependent on funding and performance, and may start on or after 1 July 2027. Teaching is optional. The group connects applied analysis and computational methods with interdisciplinary research. Submit a cover letter, detailed CV, research statement, publication list and at least three references by 28 February 2027.

PhD before the appointment in Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, Statistics or a related discipline; research achievement in inverse problems, machine learning or statistics.
