Stipends for Sabbatical Leave

Stipends for long research secondments abroad by Danish-based senior researchers in clinical, translational and basic biomedical sciences with a focus on neuroscience or disciplines supporting neuroscience, so that research leaders can focus fully on research at an international research institution. Up to DKK 500,000 per grant covers additional documented expenses of a two- to six-month stay; the applicant’s salary remains with the Danish employer and indirect costs are not covered. Applications are processed within three to four weeks except during holiday periods.

Senior researchers with at least five years of tenure at a Danish university hospital or research institution as associate professor, consultant, senior researcher or professor, who can be exempted from teaching, clinical and laboratory duties during the stay. No re-application within three years of a previous sabbatical grant. The grant is managed by a Danish non-commercial research institution and requires acceptance by the foreign host institution.
