About
Postdoctoral position in the Miller Lab at the Institute of Medical Genetics, Center for Pathobiochemistry and Genetics, Medical University of Vienna. The project investigates how metabolic processes regulate tissue regeneration, comparing regenerative responses across tissues with a focus on how nuclear metabolic and epigenetic interactions support changes in cell state, proliferation and repair. Building on the lab's liver-regeneration work, it extends to tissues with different regenerative strategies such as muscle, kidney and pancreas, using murine regeneration models together with selected stem cell models to identify tissue-specific mechanisms.
The lab brings together metabolism, cell and molecular biology and analytical chemistry. Full-time, fixed-term for two years with an option to extend; minimum gross salary EUR 5,014, 14 times a year.
Requirements
PhD in regenerative, stem cell, developmental, molecular or cell biology, biomedicine or a related field with a strong publication record (early-career postdocs welcome); research experience in tissue regeneration or stem cell biology, especially tissue-resident stem/progenitor cells; substantial experience with mouse models; strong molecular and cellular biology. Desirable: mouse surgery or microsurgery, kidney, muscle or pancreas regeneration models, and metabolomic, proteomic or epigenomic data analysis.
